Sarasota Memorial Day Parade
Join the Sarasota community in honoring the men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States during the Sarasota Memorial Day Parade, held annually on Memorial Day. The patriotic procession features marching bands, local veterans’ groups, ROTC units, scouts, first responders, and community organizations.
The parade route travels west along Main Street in downtown Sarasota, beginning at Osprey Avenue and ending near Bayfront Park, where a ceremony takes place immediately following the parade. The event is family-friendly, free to attend, and a meaningful way to pay tribute to those who have served and sacrificed.
Be sure to arrive early for the best viewing spots and bring flags or wear red, white, and blue to show your support.

10th Annual Memorial Day 5K Hike
Join fellow patriots and fitness enthusiasts for the 10th Annual Memorial Day 5K Hike at Payne Park in downtown Sarasota. This family-friendly community event honors the brave men and women who gave their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces. The hike follows a scenic 5K route through the heart of Sarasota, starting and finishing at Payne Park.
Participants are encouraged to wear patriotic attire and bring flags or signs of remembrance. Water stations will be available along the route, and a short ceremony will be held at the end to recognize veterans and their families. The event is open to all ages and fitness levels, and proceeds support local veterans’ organizations.
Whether you walk, jog, or run, come out and show your support while enjoying a meaningful and energetic start to the Memorial Day weekend.

SUP & RUN 5K – 10th Anniversary Event
Celebrate the 10th anniversary of the SUP & RUN 5K, a unique, family-friendly event that combines fitness and fun. Participants can choose from three race options:
5K Run/Walk: A scenic run or walk around the lake.
5K Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP): A paddleboard race on the lake.
5K SUP & 5K Run Combo: A challenging combination of both events.
The event welcomes all skill levels, including walkers. Participants in the SUP events must know how to swim and provide their own personal flotation device (PFD).
