Music on Main Lakewood Ranch—better known to locals as First Fridays—is a monthly block party and free concert series on Main Street that brings the community together for live music, food, fun, and philanthropy.
What Is Music on Main?
On the first Friday of every month from 6–9 p.m., Main Street Lakewood Ranch shuts down to traffic and comes alive with a lively street festival. It’s equal parts family reunion and block party—neighbors catching up, kids playing games, couples grabbing dinner, and friends dancing under the palm trees.
The event features:

🍔 Local food vendors and beer trucks
🏆 Sponsor booths and activities
🎲 Games and activities for the kids, presented by Grace Community Church
Each month benefits a different local non-profit organization, so it’s not just fun—it’s all for a good cause.
Live Music at Music on Main Lakewood Ranch
To give you an idea of the variety in a typical music lineup:
October → Tropical Ave will fill the air with Top 40 dance hits and Latin pop. Proceeds benefit Bring on the Ministry.
November → Jesse Daniels will bring Country, Rock, and Soul. Proceeds benefit The Sarasota Players.
December → RJ Howson will deliver Rock, Blues originals, and classics. Proceeds benefit the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance.
What Keeps People Returning to Music on Main?
Families take kids (and even dogs on short leashes), groups of friends gather to enjoy the music, and couples turn it into a dinner-and-a-show date night. It’s one of the most inclusive, community-centered events on the Cultural Coast.
